******** Haymaker - poem published in Magma ********
Delighted to announce my poem, ‘Haymaker’ is in this summers Magma Poetry Journal. It is a reflective account of the temporary destruction caused by hay making machines in tranquil fields during the cycle of the farming year.

Scottish Chamber Orchestra Press Release
INCREDIBLE DISTANCE
An audio-visual installation
Incredible Distance is a collaborative arts project for adults which forms part of our three-year Wester Hailes residency. An open invitation was made to adults living locally and, over six weeks of sessions at WHALE Arts working in collaboration with composer Suzanne Parry and workshop leader Emma Smith, participants created an original audio-visual installation which explores the sonic and visual identity of Wester Hailes, capturing snapshots of daily life through the collection of found sound, imagery, film and original musical composition. Woven into an intricate tapestry of sound and imagery by composer Suzanne Parry and artist Ewan John, the result is part tone poem, part dreamscape, which loosely reflects 24 hours in the life of Wester Hailes.
Incredible Distance will be displayed at:The Society of Scottish Artists | Sunday 23 December 2018 - Thursday 17 January 2019WHALE Arts | Tuesday 22 January - Saturday 9 February 2019The Fruitmarket Gallery during the Connecting Communities Exhibition | Tuesday 12 - Saturday 16 February 2019

Performance | Backwoods and Boulders
The Talbot Rice Gallery, Edinburgh Wednesday 3rd October 2018
“Some bring out a sadness, some a calmness, and some crippling laughter.”
Backwoods and Boulders was a creative writing project culminating in a live performance event. Taking a line of flight from Lucy Skaer’s work Sticks and Stones – which in part derived from the artist’s interest in synonyms – Backwoods and Boulders moved from evocative descriptions, to poetry, folk stories, press releases, comedy sketches and legal case studies. Like Sticks and Stones, where the first mahogany elements of the sculpture were translated into tiles, then (with reference to only the most recent piece in the chain) into marble, aluminium, wood, paper pulp, slate and jesmonite – so this event extended by a process of rumours across different forms of writing, exploring what happens to meaning in translation and transition.
All of the new creative writing projects have been commissioned in the context of Lucy Skaer’s ‘The Green Man’, and we extend our sincere thanks to all of the artists and academics who have participated: Tim Craven, Katy Hastie, Moira Jeffrey, Ewan John, Catriona Kelly, Kate Keohane, Smita Kheria, Kate McAllister
